Something is wrong

Not everything is as it seems!

Something is wrong

The trade in counterfeits harms the economy, jeopardizes jobs and leads to lower tax revenues. Although the damage can be expressed in figures, it often remains abstract. Sometimes, however, counterfeits cause very real problems: namely, when they simply don’t work at the decisive moment…  – quality defects, health risks and disappointed expectations included.

The APM short film project draws attention to the problems caused by product piracy.

The film series “Something is wrong” is a production of the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. The production was preceded by a competition in which we asked the students of the Film Academy for concepts on how to present the topic of “innovation and protection of intellectual property” and its importance for society in a short film. Out of more than 30 proposals, the concept for the short film series – consisting of four individual clips – emerged as the winner.

“Something is wrong” was realized by Bo Riedel-Petzold (script/cinematography) and Marco Henn (production).

The short film series has already won the Annual Multimedia Digital Talents Award 2020 and won gold in the student film category at the International Business Film Festival 2020.

Glimmers of light - ideas illuminate our world

A small village almost like from a museum, far from civilization as we know it today. It could be almost idyllic if it were not always dark. Then one of the residents has a bright idea.

This was the winning project from the first competition held jointly with the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.

The winning project focused on the importance for innovation and the associated respect and need for protection.
Winner of the German Business Film Award 2014
(in the junior category)

The film “Lichtblicke” was realized by Dorian Lebherz and Daniel Titz (director), Johannes Kunkel (producer) and Helena Hofmann (producer).
